Pioneer Mutual Life Insurance Company, or also known as PML, is a team that creates insurance products which are fixed and universal. Their goal is also to help customers to have a secure future ahead.

PML, for a long time has a track record of excellent financial strength in supporting OneAmerica. The main group strives to keep its promise to policy holders to bring security, as well as peace of mind.

This proven track record finds basis in AM Best’s rating of the company with “A”, or having excellent capability to keep its financial obligation to its clients.

According to A.M. Best, which is an organization that measures the financial strength of certain industries in the insurance business, a rating of “A” is the third highest, out of 15 possible ratings or grades.

OneAmerica, which main office is in Indianapolis, Indiana had its solid foundation for more than 130 years in the business of creating and providing insurance.

PML was incorporated as a life insurance provider, which is legal and reserve, on Nov. 3, 1947. It developed out of the Ancient Order of United Workmen, which was a society that originated in Meadville, Pennsylvania, and was the very first group that offers death benefit life insurance to those who were part of the organization. It was also an assessment group that issued documents to different departments or branches of the US.

In the year 1889, the mason group, Grand Lodge of North Dakotas was established, and it did business under that charter, or issuance of documents by the Ancient Order of United Workmen, until 1895, when during that time it was divided into two independent orders.

The North Dakota fraternal incorporated the Grand Lodges of different states from merger successions.

On April 18, 1991, PML entered into an agreement for facilities services with Coordinated Insurance Services Inc. (CIS), which is a subsidiary of Noridian Mutual Insurance Company. With this agreement, PML was allowed to gave administrative services from CIS, which is currently the Noridian Insurance Services, Inc. and decided that all of its employees would be under the Noridian umbrella.

During the year 2000, PML entered into an agreement of affiliation with American United Life Insurance Company in order to broaden its line of business and services and pursue an alliance which is a strategic one with other financial organizations.

In the year 2001, its policy holders approved a reorganization plan wherein PML reorganized from being a mutual insurance company to a stock company which is wholly-owned by the American United Mutual Insurance Holding Company. This reorganization plan has been approved previously by the North Dakota Insurance Department on October 8, 2001 and the Indiana Insurance Department on October 16, 2001.
